Peta Pledger, Designer and dressmaker Vintage inspired clothing
Drawing inspiration from vintage patterns, Australian 50s housewives, pin-up glamour, rock n’roll and tattoo culture, Melbourne designer and dressmaker Peta Pledger creates one-off and small run garments and accessories.

Using quality fabrics, Peta’s specialty is made-to-measure figure-flattering garments, which she designs to be equally suitable for rockabilly gigs, weddings or garden parties.

Peta started sewing in 1988 to make herself clothing that she liked and flattered her figure. Her interest in dressmaking soon became a passion, and she qualified in design, pattern and dressmaking while still in her teens.

The Peta Pledger label was born in early 2003. Since then, the business has grown to encompass an online shop and various stockists, and is supported by a solid and growing body of loyal repeat customers all over the world.

Peta’s goal is to make flattering garments for girls and women of all ages, shapes and sizes, and to inject some 50s breeziness and glamour to the everyday. Her favourite moment is seeing the look on customer’s faces when they try on their finished made-to-measure clothing for the first time.

Peta is proud of the old-fashioned customer service and high-quality workmanship she offers, and politely requests that customers send her a photo of themselves in their Peta Pledger item.
